VIDEO: “Morning, I Wake Up” At RockWood Music Hall In NYC

Our lives are filled with valuable stories from the moment we wake...Trust the journey.

I wrote “Morning, I Wake Up" when I first moved to Montreal, Canada to attend McGill University. I had transitioned over from Classical Music to study Music Technology and Jazz Piano, because I believed that was the future of music. I quickly found myself in a unique situation.

Montreal was completely different from what I was accustomed to in Taipei. In Montreal, the people were unfamiliar, the food tasted different, and the weather was drastic. Despite all that, I knew I was exactly where I needed to be because my future self was there, amidst the drastic change in my life.

This song represents the time in my life when I escaped my comfort zone in order to progress onward. To reach that person, I must listen and learn from the stories beginning from the moment I wake up in the morning. Accompanied with a few incredibly talented musicians at the Rockwood Music Hall in New York City, I perform this original piece to such a wonderful crowd. It was a moment I will treasure forever.
